The Call Of Art
Stacks of art to be completed quietly await upon my studio table in a special corner.
This week was challenging for my creative progress as allergy migraines kept stomping around my head! I get so frustrated with them as they are my time thieves. Do any of you get migraines? It’s so interesting when I meet people who never get them and try to describe the intensity of the debilitating pain. One of the positives to my post-migraine time is how the clarity of my creativity sparkles once I’m back on my feet.
To soothe my restlessness, as it was hard to focus during my spell of on-and-off migraines, I found adding layers of the available mixed colors of the “art to be completed stack” brought great satisfaction.
Filming demos or animations had to be put on temporary hold and are starting up again today. Yippee!
A Happy Stack Of Paintings Await
The storms have literally been racing through Seattle, and the grayness calls for my color palette to be more brilliant than ever. I smile as I pen these words, as the color I was dabbing everywhere when I took this photo is gray. When I mix up my Acryla Gouache, I try to make quantities of colors so the art coordinates. Check out these delicious colors below. The “AG” stands for Acryla Gouache.
Dog Love
I love dogs, and these are a couple of the amazing ones I met recently on a lunch date. This Frenchie was a stylish and standoffish lady. She liked having her photo taken but wanted no interaction. The backpack duo was rescued from a shelter, and they were so happy chilling with their people. Those crossed paws on the front pup get me every time.
Sailing In The Clouds: The Tale That No Believed
I have an ongoing fascination with the clouds and always look skyward to get my daily dose of inspiration when the skies are delightful blue. This is an untouched photo of a creation by Mother Nature that took my breath away the other day. This title calls for a story to be told.
Speaking of stories, in future blog posts here on Substack, I’ll be adding micro-fictional stories to my art to inspire your creativity, encourage you to try a few words, and give some helpful prompts to get you writing with me. I’m excited to give this a try with you.
The Portal To Clarity
As I was walking down the stairwell to have breakfast the other morning, my eyes looked upward and caught this portal of beauty. Breathing deeply, I took a few moments in the warm light to let my thoughts settle and my mind clear.

A lovely share! I understand migraines deeply. They have been severe for decades. They visit me less now. I am sorry that you also deal with that - it is a unique life affliction that impacts every aspect.
Such happy colours! Your art is full of energy! I hope you are feeling better. Oh, I know severe migraines very well, too, unfortunately, I have had them regularly since teenage years. For my mother they stopped with menopause, so I am hoping it will be the same, at least something to look forward to 😊
