Fanciful Birds Galore!
This past week, I jumped into a live class by the brilliant Emily Powell! WOW! My studio became total chaos as I scattered paints, brushes, paper, and canvas all over my tables and floor like a whirling dervish! I’m kicking myself for not taking a photo! This Thursday, March 8th, the next one is The Garden! I’ll definitely remember to take a picture of my studio setup.
Emily Powell’s live class inspired me to give these paints a workout!
I have been collecting these Flashe paints and use them a little bit here and there. After the class, I wanted to create a quick demo video about them for you.
These are an opaque acrylic paint with a smooth matte finish. If you are interested in watching the video about these Flashe Paints, please click on this direct link to the video on my Vimeo account.
Enjoy!
Chihuahua In A Bag
On my daily walks, I see many dogs but rarely do they get tucked into bags in my neighborhood. This is a photo I took over the summer while visiting Moab, Utah, and could not resist sharing it with you all.
Chihuahuas have such huge personalities and this cutie was full of sass. She’s definitely in her favorite cosy place here and made it very clear to stand back. I was shown a full on lip curl accompanied by a deep throat snarl! No pets from me for this tiny tigress!
Wing The Pencil has a mind of its own. I let the lines scribble across the sketchbook page and see what appears.
Moving The Bird In A Teacup
This lizard came along first and the wheels rolled in next. Sipping my morning coffee, the mug I was holding called to be drawn but the handle told me not to include it. I remembered the robin in my photo below, so she settled into the mug but needed a tiny friend. The ladybug and stars popped in last!
I look forward to ladybug season returning. When you see one, good luck and positivity flow your way.
The Robins Of Spring Are Returning
I glimpsed this beautiful robin out of the corner of my eye, settled on top of this wood post. Speaking in a quiet tone, I asked her to wait a moment so a photo could be snapped. I swear she nodded a yes! Right after I took this, her wings carried her away as a chirp of a goodbye parted from her beak.
The growing city of Bellevue, WA, is in the background along with the snow covered Cascade Mountains. Brilliant sunshine was a true treat on my walk this day.
Sasha Loves Spring
Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow this past Friday so spring is coming with no 6 week delay! This groundhog prediction has been happening since 1887 and this is the 21st time he has not seen his shadow.
I have a question for you! Why is the groundhog always a male named Phil? It’s time for at least a Philippa to shake this annual event up!
